RED FLAG 01

Any "job" that asks you to pay first

A fee for "training," a "starter kit," or software you must buy before you can start — real jobs and platforms never ask you to pay to begin working.

RED FLAG 02

Vague descriptions with huge promised payouts

"Earn $500/day, no experience!" with no clear explanation of what the actual work is — the vaguer the job, the more likely it's a trap.

RED FLAG 03

Requests to move payment off the platform

Being asked to pay via personal Venmo, gift cards, or crypto before any work is done — this removes any protection you'd normally have.

RED FLAG 04

"Mystery shopper" or check-cashing schemes

Being asked to deposit a check and send part of it back to someone — this is a classic and very common bank fraud setup.

RED FLAG 05

Pressure to recruit others under you

If your "earnings" depend more on recruiting new people than on an actual product or service, that's a pyramid structure, not a job.

The one-question filter

Ask yourself: "Is this company paying me for something they'll sell to someone else?" If yes — a service, a product, a piece of content — it's a real business model. If the actual product is "recruiting more people" or "paying to get started," it's not.
